Good morning
This Internet thing to servant is one of the greatest of all modern inventions
One crazy hoax can travel the entire world in seconds!
"The intellectual always has a choice either to side with the weaker, the less well represented, the forgotten or ignored, or to side with the more powerful" - Edward Said
There are always those who fancy themselves as intellectuals. These people are always in search of a mainstream media to express their views. The MM's daughter gets prime attention
However the ones who got slighted will resort to personal blogs and other newsgroups on the Internet's World Wide Web
These people provide not a broadcast but a 'narrowcast' of unedited views, debate and rumour. Of course in Master Nair's case, no one will take him seriously from now on
On the brighter side, discussion on the Internet, if not always coherent, is highly lively and takes place on a wide range of subjects, not least politics. Although Master George says we cannot be taken seriously
Then again there are those who take things very personal and choose to argue over very trivials and when they lose, 'no sound no shadow'
But the fact remains that since the 1997 election, sinkapo's community of Internet users did provide a range of comments, perspective and analysis on the election. Such serious views do hav some sociological value that do relate to a particular section of society
The younger the poster the more frequent he or she seems to post. Of course there are the 'ah peks' like me too lah
Cynical or otherwise, the RULERs shud gain more if they pay a little attention to what they call 'internet nonsense' and silently try and improve on whatever may be improved
You got nothing to lose lah
Case in point: Just months before the 2006 elections servant had decided to return a rented shop to the HDB
By previous experience, we had to dig up the floor and return with a pristine cement screed WITHOUT ANY WATER MARKs. This ordeal may cost the outgoing tenant thousands of dollars. Some years earlier me had to do the screed twice becos the first one had watermarks!!
Worse still! With or without watermarks, the bloody new cement screed is still a 'screed' and the new tenant will put on a new flooring in anycase! So why you so PGO evil serpents?
Consider this. Reasons for 'giving up' a business can vary from bankruptcy, poor business, ill health etc. NONE of the reasons account for the HDB's additional cost imposition for so doing
Surprisingly though, through the ranting over here at FS, the buggers actually had a representative come over to collect the keys from servant, WITHOUT HAVING TO RE-DO THE FLOOR and re-instate the shop to original condition. So they do read afterall?
Thank you very much Master Chief for FS and thank you whoever, for the Internet. Last time servant posted at gahmen sites whenever me kenna the needle. They delete faster than Chris Angel
Dun let 'March FOOL' jokes get the better of such an invention. And me dear MASTERs and RULERs, dun try and muzzle GOOGLE like 'RED CHINA" ??
me no intellectual lah. me just the unfortunate bugger who seem to always kenna the needle from your distinguished Mandarins
Write to papers - no publish. See PAP MP - bo chap. So no choice just tell others in the internet to be careful lor
Consider this. You are well heeled. But you cannot guarantee that your children will be. What happens if they hav to do micro businesses like me?
NO lah me not gonna 'Found Political Party' like what me elite banker friend told me recently. With so little education, it wud be like a 'lamb unto slaughter'
Anyway SIRs very few years left too lah |

Yeah, with all the translation dictionaries & services online, we can learn even more even though the translation might not be perfect. |
