Lol, you sounds like you are being glad for being alive. Then again, I do agree with you that we should cherish every minutes even if it means being an armchair warrior. haha

Counting down to the end of 2009 with 43minutes to go.

boo

Actually, I'm a New Year sceptic. I mean: how do you know this year is going to be one of the good years. How da yer know yer not gonna die this year, right? No one expected the tsunami and the 9 eleven (not 7 eleven!). So, how do you know you are going to see the next light the following day, right? Or you are not going to be bankrupted by some German name companies.

The other time I know of was the Millennium Year and the Y2K 'crisis' which some of us (I wasn't involved) had to stand by for any technical occurrence.

Basically, such festivity is no more but an excuse to celebrate (party time) and supporting consumerism - it's a bull.

Actually, it doesn't matter if it is an excuse to celebrate or otherwise. What is important is you give yourself a break from reality check and give yourself some hope. It is tiring to be living so realistically every seconds. We know the new year may not be a good one, but we HOPE it will be (maybe for some people, they will make it a better year for themselves.)

Realism is a thin line from pessimism, imo.

Whatever will happen in the future, we do not know. After all, we aren't human beings with the ability to read or write the future. We should just cling onto hope and of course do our part to make it come true.

For the people who are fighting to live, for the ones who are fighting for their family, for others who are fighting for various reasons, they are always clinging to hope. Hence, a new year marks a new beginning for them as well. =)

Lastly, I might not be able to express my thoughts well, so if you find what I say is bull, just ignore me, alright? :D
